As we approach the time when fall turns to winter, it can be hard to determine how to dress. How do you layer? What can you wear to remain stylish but warm at the same time? Today we are going to discuss our favorite ways to dress for that fall to winter transition period.

 

1)Always Choose Layers

One of the best ways to stay comfortable during seasonal transitions is with appropriate layers. Maybe the afternoon is a bit warmer, but you know the evenings will be chilly. Wear your favorite denim with a light sweater and bring your favorite leather jacket or peacoat with you. When you have multiple layers, you can adjust as needed.

 

2) Incorporate Your Winter Wear with Your Warm Weather Pieces

A great way to prepare for the colder months is to take your favorite warm weather pieces and layer chunky sweaters and coats over it. Maybe you have a slip dress you wore all summer and don’t want to put away for the year. Layer a turtleneck over it and a great pair of booties. You will look chic and still remain warm no matter what the weather brings. You can also layer a chunky sweater over a white button down with denim and loafers for a look that will feel put together, but give you plenty of options to add or remove layers depending on the weather.

 

3) Swap Tights for Leggings

If you have a few dresses that you wore tights with all summer, then it is the perfect time to bring out a thicker pair of leggings. Any outfit where you might need an extra bit of warmth is perfect for wearing with tights including dresses, skirts, and even long sweaters.

 

4) Accessorize Away

The colder months can leave you feeling a little frumpy when you are constantly having to add layers so be sure to throw in your favorite accessories. If you are wearing a dress with a sweater, pull out your favorite belt to finish off the look or add some chunky earrings if you want to have some fun with your outfit.

 

These tips are the perfect way to prepare for the transitional from mild fall weather to the colder winter months. Transitional periods can be tough, but you can still put together outfits that will make you feel your best while looking stylish!

Denim on denim is a trend that has stuck around for several seasons. However, sometimes it can be hard to pull it off unless you do it the right way. We are going to talk about the best way to style denim on denim so you can wear the trend and still be stylish while doing so!

 

1)Go for a Jumpsuit Look

If you want to pair a denim shirt and denim pants, you can absolutely pull them off in the same color. When you tuck your shirt into your pants, it is going to give the appearance of a denim jumpsuit. This look can be finished with a great pair of white sneakers or a pair of heels for a night out and you will look more stylish than ever!

 

2) Untucked Denim Top

For those that don’t want the look of a jumpsuit, you can still wear denim pants and a top, but this time go for an oversized top in a different color or pattern than your pants and leave it untucked. This will give you that classic ‘cool girl’ look. Finish the outfit with a pair of heels and you will be set for date night or drinks with friends.

 

3) White on White Denim

When you think of denim on denim, you are likely picturing different shades of blue denim, but this look can also be achieved with white denim. For a chic all-white look, you can pair a great pair of wide leg white denim with a white tee and then a white denim jacket or button-up to finish your outfit.

 

4) Mix Dark with Light

If you don’t want to be too matchy matchy, then you might also consider a pair of dark denim with a white tank or tee and then wear a light-colored denim jacket on top. This will still give you the denim on denim look, but in a much more classic way. For a casual look, you can wear white sneakers and be ready to take on the day in style.

Although this time of year can be filled lots of joy and laughter, it can also feel slightly stressful when it comes to buying groceries for these gatherings. So, let’s talk about some of the best ways that you can save money on groceries this season.

 

1)Plan a Budget

One of the best ways you can save money is to plan your budget ahead of time. Put together what you can spend in advance so you can start planning ahead and know what you will be spending.

 

2) Start Your Shopping Early

For certain items, you can start shopping early. Things that do not need to be refrigerated or kept fresh can be bought a couple of weeks early to not have to spend all of the money at once. You will also be able to keep an eye out for when things are cheaper and grab them ahead of time.

 

3) Utilize Coupons

If you prepare far enough in advance, you can utilize coupons for your Thanksgiving groceries. This can help you save plenty of money if you are able to look at coupons and take the time to check out different stores and get the best prices.

 

4) Keep the Menu Simple

Don’t feel as though you need to go overboard if you cannot afford to do so. Don’t feel bad for scaling back on the menu and only having one or two appetizers. Another option is to ask guests to bring their favorite dish and consider providing appetizers, one main dish, and beverages. Everyone else can bring a dish and that will also keep the cost down.

The Wish Tree is located between White House Black Market and Free People and features wishes of children and families in need throughout Mercer County.

Simply choose a hand-crafted ornament containing a wish, purchase the item(s) and return unwrapped to the drop box next to the tree.

Ornaments are beautifully hand made by the Girls Scouts of East & West Windsor and and are yours to keep as a thank you.

The Wish Tree is organized by the Princeton Area Women's Group and gifts are distributed through the Division of Children and Families of Trenton.
